Why Wedding Shows Matter

Last weekend, on November 8th, we participated in the Puyallup Wedding Show, and it was an incredible experience. Connecting with so many passionate couples, their families, friends, and dedicated wedding vendors reminded us of the importance of this event. These vendors work tirelessly to ensure your wedding day is nothing short of flawless and spectacular. This event deeply reinforced for us at Sunflower Dream Studio why wedding shows are vital, and it inspired us with new ideas to better serve our clients.

Planning a wedding involves a whirlwind of decisions — that's why wedding shows are so valuable. They put everything you need under one roof: from venues and florists to photographers and entertainment. And when it comes to capturing the magic of your special day, our photo booth services are a perfect addition. At a wedding show, just like your wedding, our photo booth becomes a hub of fun and connection, allowing you to experience the joy and create lasting memories even before your big day.

Here are our reasons why we believe wedding shows matter, and what we learned as a vendor.

Why Wedding Shows Are a Game-Changer for Couples

  •  One-Stop Discovery: Imagine having all your wedding needs in one place. Venues, florists, photographers, planners, DJs, bakers, beauty teams, rental companies, and more—side by side. No more endless online searches or guesswork. You can see, taste, and touch real options, making your decisions easier and more informed.

  • Real Conversations: At a wedding show, you can ask questions on the spot, feel the chemistry with a vendor, and get a sense of their personality and professionalism. These real conversations are crucial for a stress-free wedding day, giving you the confidence that you've chosen the right partners for your special day.

  • Honest Comparisons: Seeing multiple vendors at once helps you compare style, pricing, and packages quickly. This saves you weeks of calls and emails, giving you more time to focus on other aspects of your wedding. You're in the driver's seat, making informed decisions that best suit your needs and preferences.

  • Inspiration in Real Life: From styled displays to live demos, couples leave with tangible ideas, clarity on priorities, and a shortlist of vendors.

  • Exclusive Perks: Many vendors offer show-only discounts, giveaways, and early-booking incentives at wedding shows. For instance, our custom guest book was an instant hit, and guests really loved the different color options, the foil text, plus couples could combine two wedding must-haves into a single purchase, simplifying their wedding planning. These exclusive perks make attending a wedding show not just informative, but also financially beneficial for couples.

What We Learned as a Vendor: It's All About Relationships

Couples are not the only ones who are being educated at a wedding show. Not only do we have a great time meeting with all you couples, but we also get to interact with our wedding collab partners in a relaxed, comfortable setting. Here are some of the takeaways we had.

  • Relationships Over Tech: We learned that technology can help, but it can also hiccup. What never fails is face-to-face connection—listening, answering questions, and being present. It's why we always have an on-site attendant with our photo booths.

  • Building Trust: Couples want partners, not just providers. Clear communication, empathy, and follow-through matter more than flashy setups or websites.

  • Partnering with Fellow Vendors: Wedding days are a team sport. Planning a wedding involves a whirlwind of decisions. We get to know other vendors—how they work, their timelines, and their strengths—which creates smoother events and happier couples.

  • Shared Success Mindset: We're all working toward the same goal: making a couple's day unforgettable. Referencing each other, coordinating details early, and celebrating wins together elevate the entire experience. It's through these wedding shows that we have made connections with other photo booth companies, gaining support and ideas to improve our products and services for your dream wedding.

  • Pre-show and post-show connections: Swapping contacts, creating shared checklists, and touching base after the show help us collaborate seamlessly when we end up on the same wedding. Several of the DJs we partner with broadcast our photo booth slideshow in real time, so you can see your family and friends' photo booth captures from the dance floor. It's these little behind-the-scenes touches that make a difference.

Bottom Line: Wedding shows aren't just for booking clients—they're where strong relationships start, with couples and with the vendor community that brings the day to life!

Looking forward to seeing you all on February 21st and 22nd at the next Puyallup Wedding Show.
